Certification
Assistance: Council Enterprises, Inc., serves as a clearinghouse for the certification of
minority-owned firms. The Council works to insure that only bona fide minority-owned businesses are certified. Our goal is to protect
opportunities for legitimate minority-owned firms.
Linkage to Other Councils: As a member affiliate of the National
Minority Supplier Development Council, Council Enterprises, Inc., can provide a link to the
other 39 councils across the nation. If your company is interested in doing
business in other major cities, Council Enterprises, Inc., can provide that vital contact.

A quarterly newsletter.
Buyer training programs designed to expose buyers to problems experienced
by minority businesses.
Access to instant information, so members get information quickly on
minority-owned businesses.
Effective forums that bring buyers and suppliers together for one-on-one
business discussions.
Close contact with member corporations in developing all aspects of their
minority purchasing program.
Help for individual member companies in solving problems that arise as
the company uses minority firms.
Resources from other minority assistance organizations to help meet the
needs of minority firms working with member companies.
And tools and know-how for minority firms to improve the probability of
business success through sales training, specific employee skill training,
etc.
General Information
Council Enterprises, Inc., is a not-for-profit corporation
whose purpose is to encourage business firms to purchase goods and services
from minority-owned companies on the basis of mutual self interest. Council
Enterprises, Inc.,
is supported by corporate membership dues/contributions and by funding from
the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC).
Membership shall include those persons, firms or corporations or
divisions thereof who from time to time shall represent interests, which
shall purchase goods and services from minority businesses.
Members Shall:

Participate in the activities of
Council Enterprises, Inc. Participation shall include, but not be limited to, service on
standing committees, assistance with special projects of the Council and
furtherance of the goals of the NMSDC for planned minority purchases.

Designate from time to time, in writing, a representative who may act
for and on behalf of such entity in connection with the affairs of Council
Enterprises, Inc.

Effective 1 July,
2006, Local Corporate Members are required to pay minimum annual dues of
$3,500.00 to the Wisconsin Supplier Development Council.

Have a policy statement encouraging the purchase of goods and services
from minority-owned business firms or willing to issue one within the
first four months of membership.

Have a Minority Business Purchasing Program or willing to implement
one within the first four months of membership.
